On Sunday, a friend of mine had a baby. Beautiful little girl. Perfect and full of potential.
On Sunday, I printed out my WiP, put it in a binder and plopped it on the table to show my husband.
“Wow,” he said. “That’s impressive.”
I shrugged. I thought of all its problems, all the things I still have to fix. The rewriting, reworking, re-visioning that still needs to be done.
It’s one ugly baby.
But it’s my baby. And it’s full of potential.
